Who is Mr. Davis?

I am currently an Assistant Principal. I received my Master's degree in Educational Administration at Texas Southern University. I am also officially ABD, and my expected graduation is in the Fall of 2023 with a Ph.D. in Educational leadership. I began teaching in Aldine in August 2017. I taught AP Government, AP Economics, and US Government for four years. Then I decided I needed a change and started teaching at Summer Creek High School in August 2021. I taught at Summer Creek for six months before receiving a call from Klein High School to become the Assistant Principal with a focus on student behavior. I currently hold this position. I create Opulent Interest-Educational Services to continue building capacity in students and future teachers by providing resources, research strategies, and authentic experiences to better assist them with understanding the full scope of being an educator and student. Denzel Washington stated, "Ease is a greater threat to progress than hardships." The journey to becoming an effective educator and leader is not easy. These experiences make me an unbelievable, energetic, and loving educator.

During my tenure as a Ph.D. candidate, I conducted fieldwork to collect samples, write reports, research papers, and reviews, and organize materials for testing educational hypotheses.

As an assistant principal, I monitor, collect, and analyze data to drive interventions for high-risk students and serve as a campus resource to develop interventions and strategies for teachers. I also plan, facilitate, and provide training on behavioral support and interventions to campus staff as needed. I collaborate with parents, teachers, administrators, and other relevant individuals to enhance their work with students through response to intervention. Lastly, I am an Academic TTESS Appraiser(evaluator of teachers) for World Geography and World History, providing direct coaching/support for teachers and staff on implementing student behavior interventions.

2010-2017

Bachelor's University Louisiana at Lafayette

I taught AP Government, AP Economics, US Government, US History, Economics, and World Geography. I also was the Men of LEGACI Coordinator: a program geared towards providing opportunities for young men to achieve success no matter the circumstances handed to them. Let Me Speak Adviser: build students' literacy, writing, social, and communication skills using poetry, music, spoken word, comic relief, and any other form of art to express oneself. Student Council Adviser: organize campus-wide events to ensure diversity and create a conducive climate encouraging learning. I developed an inclusive classroom that allows students to own their learning and receive an effective rating as an instructor: The rating consists of four domains: Planning and Preparation, Classroom Management, Instruction, and Professional Responsibilities.
